you won't be able to 'just watch' - when it happens everyone who can (ie. Russia, China mostly) is going to start dropping in weapons and logistic support for various factions, just like the US does when they want to upgrade a 'civil war' to a 'failed state'. Already crumbling infrastructure will collapse. Starvation will be an epidemic. Canada's going to be hit with a refugee crisis that makes the current European one look like Muhammad's summer vacation, assuming you somehow manage to avoid being dragged into the fighting.

Frankly I think you're just simply wrong on that, and I think you'd see that if you ever took the time to read an actual peer reviewed article on ML/AI. But if you want to pick out some particular technological forecast we disagree on and then provide evidence the majority of the people working in the relevant area agree with your position, then I'm all ears.

They're starting to - setting up military bases in Africa, getting their feet wet with training units of the Syrian Army (MPs and Engineers I think)...

All other things aside, if the US government collapses, do you think they'll just let the largest NBC weapons stockpile in the world disappear into the black market?

1 - those are for business and procurement, not power projection and hegemony.

2 - id say they would. who cares ??? and if those NBCs actually disappears into nigger market, and if china cares, they would just buy it up. itll be cheaper that way.

No way to know for sure I guess - lately China acts as the economic engine with Russia as the military muscle, but I think they'd be likely to intervene directly in this case given the potential benefits and little to no risk of retribution

my understanding of china is that they dont want anything that isnt chinese to begin with, of what was china proper at the height of its power.

i dont even think they really wanted taiwan but becos and due to the american support for taiwan, it made china feel cucked and they now have to have it.
