Like that would be a reason to not tell people. millions wont kill themselves. maybe a few. the universe is massive. why would we be the only things in this entire universe .. especially how fucked up the human race is. there is probably paradise with no violence and societies of races of whatever much more fucked up than we are.

If aliens wanted to be known to exist they could unambiguously make themselves known to everyone. If aliens did exist, you probably wouldn't want to go pissing off a species that's infinitely more technologically advanced by telling everyone they exist when they don't want that to be known. You know? Plus it would put a strain on pretty much every extant political and religious power structure in the world. The only people who would be pleased to hear that aliens are real are scientists, scientist-fellating redditard nerds, and UFO enthusiasts. None of whom matter.

Here is a thought
Our species was believed to be 200 million for thousands and thousands of years. then at the start of the 19th century it was up to close to 1 billion and by the middle of the 20th century it went to 4 billion and ended around 6 billions plus at the year 2000.
we're closing in on 8 billion now.
what if.. the billions didn't come from regular humans but alien seeding into the human race and or just aliens slowly moving to our planet and taking up bodies that look like us?
what if the majority of humans aren't humans at all.
