So I'm 25 and to still call myself a psychonaut and not a drug addict I have moved on to natural neurochemicals.
My favorites are in no particular order
flirting with and taking risks with girls
jumping off tall shit into water
jumping into freezing water or switching the tap to all the way cold in the shower(I've been doing this since I was like 11 and it is the only way I can wind down after a day of hard work)
Fighting, being punched and pain, I think you have to rewire yourself a little for this one but I wuz a pow abused child so it wasn't hard for me
Thats the big ones, cuddling and giving girls back massages seem to give me nice nuerochemicals but they aren't as pronounced like the others. People talk about runners highs but I cycle ten miles over decent hills and its no high like the formers. Its still nice enough though.
I think its funny when people say adrenaline or shock, each experience like that is really its own little cocktail, being in a car wreck feels nothing like almost drowning and neither feel like when your friends little brother shoots his finger off and hes holding it in his stomache and you think he just shot himself in the stomache. Its all differant, adrenaline can't be boiled down to one feeling.
I almost drowned when I was about 4 and once you get past the fear and just give up it really is so peaceful. Don't tell anyone this though because people hate you when think death is the ultimate peace.
So am I missing anything? PLaying a show is pretty good I guess but I don't like having alot of peoples attention on me and like to operate in the shadows.
The important thing is to never be caught off gaurd by nuerochemicals you have never experienced. That is what I called a fruedian slip, someone gets in their first car wreck and what do they do? Their behavior in these situations can show a lot about them. My first car wreck I wasn't worried at all. A fence post came through the window inches from my head while the car was going 80 but to me its like being in a plane and you just feel alright. The car was totaled but the radio still worked and while me and my friend inspected the damage "rollin down the street smokin indo sippin on jin a juice" was still coming through and its a funny memory.
