I have one in a box for 22 years that my dad gave me. I keep forgetting about it. I have no idea what to do with it.
Pretty much just truckers use them I think.

I had one for years in a box. When I moved to Charleston SC in 1991, I came across it while I was unpacking. I set it up and began talking to a girl the first day. It turned out to be just like DH but back in the day, a bunch of fucking and fighting. I met some real good people that I still keep in touch with to this day. It was all about who had the most power and so you could talk "over" what we called the mud ducks. At one time I was the top dog in that town and was well known. I actually got bored with the locals so I bought a directional antenna and could regularly talk to people down in Florida. We also had fun sending truckers in the opposite direction of where they needed to go. One guy had a bunch of power in his pick up truck and could sit in the Kmart parking lot and key up over the intercom, imagine what you could do. I do know the FCC was looking for some of us. Good times..

I loved those back in the day! My dad would get one out when we'd go on road trips...(to gramma's house)
I remember he'd always let me ask the time and I felt special, lol
Wasn't it like: breaker one -nine- for something...I forgot already, lol too long ago!

Not sure when the mods (FCC) quit CB radios but it was a free for all just like DH became.

We used ours in '89 for the last time on our road trip. We had a lotta fun that time, as I was not a child anymore and my bro had a buddy along who was threatening some truckers and we kept imagining they might shoot at us! But it was fun nonetheless!
