Fuck paying for a new phone. And pay what? $600 or more ? Haha.

I buy used ones that look nearly new.

I still have a Samsung Note 4 which I can change the battery in 10 seconds.

I'll keep it till it dies.

I copied my photos and did factory reset, as soon as it finished installing and brought me to the android homepage it started bitching about moisture.

The problem is sort of intermittent and usually the trick is to reboot it without charger connected, and plug it in on repower when the samsung logo shows up, but before the OS loads. I bet this is a ploy to trick people into buying the slow ass wireless charger, must be the people who were signing folks up for the unwanted Wells Fargo accounts went to work at Samsung.

I tried using the phone as a USB tether on the pc and then sharing the web connection back to the phone over wifi ( fucking LOL ) and the usb link would kickout when I tried going full-circle. Guess I'm not getting any samsung updates. I have no faith in this thing, I'll check prices for piece-of-shit fucked up ones like mine and it it isn't worth much I'll be destroying it after I get a replacement.

EBay has brand new phones for a fraction of the cost.

I've used Ebay,Swappa.com and craigslist. Bought and sold. I prefer selling on craigslist as it saves shipping and selling fees.

On craigslist, you meet in person and you should at least take a photo of their drivers license. If they seem shady just leave. Some will sell you a phone and then claim it as lost or stolen. Then the phone is pretty much useless as the IMEI number will get blocked.

There are also stories of phones getting blocked as far as six months later. Rent-A-Center were blocking them. Apparently the assholes were selling phones still under contract with them.

That's why I use eBay I would not buy phones from Craigslist. The last phone that I bought was worth around $400 and I paid $95 for it on eBay.

eBay have super cheap phones, it's where I got my last 2, just be careful you don't have one with a funky firmware - buy new and do a reset first.

Xiaomi are where it's at for good, cheap fones.

A Moto G 5th generation is not too bad...however due to steel case you need a strong protective case and tempered glass shield. May have Gorilla glass now and about $230-$250. Still not perfect...camera has issues and updates are slow. Used phones are iffy also...always a problem.

I would not say always. I've had good luck buying used Samsungs.

I doubt I will ever buy a new phone.
