im pretty sure you also have one in your transverse colon [not that i know what it means].

You neither built on the premise that insects do not have central nervous systems nor does it make any sense to make an argument from a premise which has just been challenged.

Bugs do not have a central nervous system as we know it.

Wrong, insects have brains. Brains are a part of the central nervous system.

I said they don't have a central nervous system, not they don't have a brain.

A brain is a central nervous system.

Not quite. The central nervous system in invertebrates includes the spinal cord.

so do insects have or not have central nervous system ???

The discussion is focused on the eating, or not, of meat. I merely stated that eating bugs as a meat substitute is not as morally wrong as some might conclude, since insects don't have a central nervous system. A central nervous system needs to include a brain and a functioning spinal column. Insects do not have a spinal column.

if insects do not have a something similar in function and purpose to spinal column ...

then how do their legs move when their brain tells their legs to move ???

Fucking magic. That’s why I’m gonna eat them.

They have a brain, it's just that they don't have a central nervous system, therefore they don't experience pain, at least not as we would consider pain.

Yes, the CNS of vertebrates does include the spinal cord. That does not mean that if an animal does not have a spine, that it also doesn't have a CNS. Don't believe me? Here's a study where the researchers specifically mention the CNS of a species of ants in the title:

The effects of some drugs affecting brain 5-HT on the aggressive behaviour and spontaneous electrical activity of the central nervous system of the ant, Formica rufa

It took like 30 seconds to google that, you could have avoided this embarrassing situation if you had taken the time to do that search before posting incorrect information. That's less time than it took you to make the post defending your wrong point, or than it will take you to reply to this one. End it cheap spectral and do the 30 seconds of research required to find out you're dead wrong.

Yes, they do. Spectral is just unwilling to admit he was wrong.

"Insects lack the neurological structures that translate a negative stimulus into an emotional experience. We have pain receptors (nocireceptors) that send signals through our spinal cord and to our brain. Within the brain, the thalamus directs these pain signals to different areas for interpretation. The cortex catalogs the source of the pain and compares it to pain we've experienced before. The limbic system controls our emotional response to pain, making us cry or react in anger. Insects don't have these structures, suggesting they don't process physical stimuli emotionally."

But if you couldn't feel pain, you still probably wouldn't want people to fucking eat you because of that, right?
