I've been into hiking ever since I was a kid. I grew up in a rural area so exploring the nearby creeks and hills "was" practically my childhood. It's amazing the world that often times goes unnoticed because it simply lies outside the parameters of the blacktop. I've not done as much hiking in the last two years as I would have liked, but I'm looking to get back into it again. I mainly enjoy it because it's a somewhat meditative experience, allows me to get an ample amount of fresh air, and it's a testament to my capability/endurance. Not to mention, sometimes you can find some fairly interesting things when hiking.. abandoned areas, valuable plants/fungi, just interesting objects left behind on accident. There's something serene to being unplugged in a world that almost demands constant digital interaction. If your lost and can't seem to fathom where you want to go in your life, take a hike.. literally, and you might surprise yourself with what you come up with.
I mainly created this thread to garner some interest, and I'll most likely try to update semi-frequently with pictures of my hiking excursions. I'd like to do a similar thread on urban exploration, which was something I originally got into back with &T and Zoklet. But I'll save that for another thread..... Ah fuck it, I'll just change this thread title and add it here. Save some space.
Anyways, whats some of your experiences and feel free to contribute.

I don't hike that often, however i do enjoy the occasional trip to many of the forests in norway or sweden.
I usually bring a few friends with me. We chop sum wood, build a tipi, make a fire, go fishing, jump into the lakes, make primitive chairs/beds etc.
And then when it gets dark, we sit in the tipi and smoke weed / eat shrooms and talk about life and our experiences with it.
This is one of the things in life that i enjoy the most.

I’ve been all over the country and a little in Canada backpacking.
North America is a beautiful place.
