all modern buildings already contain significant amounts of aluminum be they in the form of office furnitures or garbages.
the fire only needs to melt these aluminums, which melt at ~600 degree C, and when melted aluminums came into contact with smouldering hot iron, a chemical reaction similar to that of thermates starts.
not to mention the planes themselves are like 60% aluminum. -

the fact that ancient people had been melting irons and bronzes with simple firewoods and charcoals are proof enough.
many things, under the right condition, can burn to a degree where its possible to melt steel. -

If you're talking about "natural smelting", where is your source for the silica flux and sulfide concentrate? Because that's what you need for smelting. -

the planes fusilage is nearly all aluminum. molten aluminum also becomes highly explosive when mixed with water.

Not Escorted.. the fighter jets would pounce on the wings at first to throw them off course or shoot them down. it's not a pretty thought knowing everyone is going to be killed by our military on the plane, but if it seems obvious they're about to strike a building and kill shitloads of more people, that shooting them down would just be less of a number kill. -

were talking about getting to temperatures needed for iron and steel to melt.
and plastics, due to their higher hydrocarbon content, actually burn hotter than woods and charcoals.
