But I definitely remember being turned on like fucking crazy by women back when I was in high school. So I was definitely straight as fuck at one point in time.
But thinking back, I just realized I've been attracted to a looot of guys over the years. Moreso than women. But not physically, because of their personality (and a bit physically -- they were all handsome men). But their personality is what made me attracted to them in the first place.

And while that may sound depressing and is actually a deeply complex process from a neurological stand point it doesn't make love feel any less real and relationships any less significant. Love between friends or family is also a survival mechanism, historically human beings needed eachother to survive, your immediate family and friends AKA tribe was a good way of ensuring your survival.

Love between friends or family is also a survival mechanism, historically human beings needed eachother to survive, your immediate family and friends AKA tribe was a good way of ensuring your survival.
Sure it does, a true understanding allows you to lift the veil and see through the illusions. Once you fully grasp the ugliness of biological reality you can question whether this is something you genuinely wish to involve yourself in, or attempt to supersede. We all restrain and question our natural impulses, are molded through an immense cascade of institutions, changes in culture, knowledge (ethics/philosophy) that have occurred over time, to attempt to mold us from what would normally be savage behavior (Lord of the Flies/niggers) to beings that can function well in a modern society. Unfortunately the madness of love is questioned far more rarely, this incredibly irrational and destructive force that blinds your faculties for logic and reasoning so that you may be cuckolded by the double helix in order to fulfill your biological imperative. That imperative is one of the most vile, reprehensible, and selfish acts you can commit; and a proper analysis of research will show that the vast majority do not experience a net gain in well being. It's an absolute fool's errand, to say nothing about anti-natalist ethics. The original sin was childbirth; women are diseased, contain something monstrous within them.
But returning to love...unless you're planning on an attempt at becoming a buddhist-nietzschean ubermensch, it does seem to be, by far, a crucial aspect for well being, positive life outcomes. At the very least treat romantic love with extreme caution.
As for your predicament, once again you're facing an attempt to supercede many things that build enormous mental barriers. The process, the effort and hardship, time it takes, for many people to accept their homosexuality is comparable to many more esoteric forms of self improvement some may choose to attempt; shame such effort is so rarely focused outside of wind chasing and tethers.
That aside, testosterone. This is the primary and most facile act I would engage in before going to a gay bar. I could go on a rant, but deficiency is surprisingly common, as in, there's a very real chance you could be deficient if you don't use the POS standard metrics with an absurd range that simply lumps together the average for a wide span of age groups. There are many reasons for this and you can't make assumptions based on superficial observances. I'd set a meeting with a primary care doctor and lie about symptoms, describe something that would represent a clinical model of very low testosterone, so you can get tested, it's a very simple test and results should be available soon afterward.

Also, if i had children i'd feel morally bound to provide for them the best possible outcome and living standards. In that sense, i think you could do good while having children.
