When people say "on my day off"

Is the implication that like they only get one day off per week instead of a two day weekend? Or does every day off count as "my day off"? Also do people actually work 6 days a week at a single job? I thought there were labor laws about that kind of thing.

A lot of people actually work 7 days week at a single job, and multiple shifts at that. You seriously are fucking dense.

Google says there's a law against more than 6 consecutive days of work, which seems reasonable. Why would I be dense for not knowing this?

In my country some people work for weeks at a time. A buddy of mine works for 14 days at a time, I think 10 or 12 hours a day, then takes 7 days off before his next shift.

The implication is that either they work 6 days a week, or have several days off but they are a few days apart from one another. I've never heard someone refer to the weekend as 'their day off.' Also, labor laws regarding hours/days worked are usually for minors. I think a grown man can legally work as much as he fucking wants to. I've worked 30+ days in a row before, picking up shifts and whatnot. I've never in my life heard of a business getting into trouble for having an employee of theirs work 6 or 7 days in a week.

I worked a job where the bitch manager would change the schedule without notice and made me work until 11 at night and then come in 5 the next Morning, that shit had to be illegal

It's a figure of speech. It means on the day(s) that i'm not working. Why you people need a thread to learn this is beyond me.

^ LOL that makes a lot of sense actually. I remember in a recent thread someone posted about how humans are a disease and Lan appeared to take that statement literally instead of metaphorically.

[greentext]>I was really amused by my daughter's reaction to the christmas presents having to be under the tree. We all had rather flattened christmas pressies one year.[/greentext]

    That's adorable.
