    I really liked rome when I first watched it, but I saw a couple of episodes a little while ago and I forgot how... gratuitous all the sex scenes were. Like I still could enjoy the character drama and the historical fidelity but the people fucking every other scene doing nothing for the plot really started to get distracting.
    
    Especially the ambitious Julii chick who had to appear naked in her first scene of like every episode, she wasn't even particularly hot.
