Anyone else like these? Like Wir Kinder Von Bahnhof Zoo or the Ages of Lulu or Last Summer?
It seems to be pretty much a lost genre of film - in association with the general shitting-upon the younger generation.

I havn't seen any made in recent years.
Maybe it's more frat humor than coming of age. but American Pie, 16 Candles, Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink and older ones like Bless the beast and the children, Harold and Maude (even though he's hooking up with an old lady.. his mom tries hooking him up with college girls) those are funny

Coming of Age movies are kinda different to comedies. They sort of hit out at the different things you had to deal with when you were a kid. Who your friends were, how you would decide your peer group, what you would do for a living, what you would do sexually, etc.
It's more or less a European post-jedi genre to be honest.

I gave up on the usual news channels. I go to KPBS for the real news. No one does it better. NEWSY does pretty good, too. Young people getting into the meat of it is refreshing.
