Like, where were they during this Syria bullshit?
Where are they when working people are losing their jobs?
Is it even fair to say that there even is a political left in existence anymore, as we would have recognised it in the late 20th Century?

You're probably kinda sorta right maybe? I think there's a lot of mental leftists but not many physical leftists, so to speak.

I guess you could call berniebros leftists, but they're too busy smoking weed and playing vidya to organize a well structured, influential political movement.

JIDF Controlled Opposition
The left you're referring to was subverted from the 80s or so, and sometime in the 2000s the anti-war slogans became more important than preventing a war. Now protest is an identity and their political horizon is short-sighted rebellion and base desire fulfillment

it's like they want to be socialists without actually appealing to the working people, starbucks pic above is related, they just want to feel like they are doing the right thing lie all the "revolutionaries" their history teacher taught them about. dont know about yall but in my public school history class we only learned about the civil rights movement and the holocaust. not an inkling of the hard work or blood shed to make america (or anywhere) a decent place to live.

There are a bunch of actual leftists. Just no organization. And sectarianism is also a problem but that's always been the case.

Definitely not in America. Our most left leftists would be considered quite right-wing in most other Western countries.
