Me too, kind of. I don't prefer it, but I watch shit on my laptop right next to a fan I have blowing out my window when I smoke and I'll turn them on then even though I can mostly hear. But you're right, ultimately it's just nice to know every single word for sure, and subs really dont ever seem to take away from the overall experience, but they're an acquired taste nonetheless. -

Kinda depends on what you're watching too though. If it's one of those dark scene whisper scary spoopy movies, you're gonna need subtitles to know what's being said.
But if you're watching like, Family Guy (which you shouldn't) then you don't really need subtitles because every word is very clear.
Personally I feel they take away from the visuals, so I try to keep them off. -

Well sure of course it also depends on what you're watching. But it is interesting, like you saying you're gonna need the subs for the scary dark scene spoopy movies but for me I'd rather turn the volume up and listen to those. I think subtitles definitely detract a lot from horror movies compared to other genres, for the most part. -

2018-05-21 at 1:11 AM UTCsubtitles are annoying af coz i can't help myself from keep reading them all the time, even when i understand perfectly what they're saying. i only need them if its foreign or summing. like i just been watching game of thrones so i did dl the dathraki only subs. nut other than that they're just off putting, especially when its a lot of dialogue and they're talking faster than you can read the bloody things.

Doesn't bother me at all. It's a matter of just getting used to it, I think.
The only bad thing about subtitles is that you lose quite a lot about the real meaning of the words, and their nuances. This is especially true when slang or a dialect is concerned. I watch an episode of Gomorra with english subs, and it was interesting cause actually that show is also difficult to translate in english because it is played in Neopolitan dialect. Even in Italy it is shown with italian subs. lol -

Maybe it's because I'm Canadian but I can understand all the British accents.
