Back in november at thanksgiving dinner at my gf's one of her gf's was talking about how she picked a new name and I was intrigued she brought up she chose a name that she felt suited her instead of one her parents gave her.
I found the idea very intriguing and got very interested in what she had to say and how it can be empowering. Take like hts for example goes by "lucy" instead of whatever his real name is, its the name that suits him, sure he's a tranny but thats besides that point even straight binary people are evidently creating this movement in changing their names for personal freedom, but thats why its important to make sure you really put some thought into this.
I've been thinking about it a lot and about a couple months ago I heard from a co-worker that he actually changed his name and we have a conversation about it and how he changed his name to "Rocky".
I ent up telling my gf that I needed to sit down and talk to her and mentioned how I've been thinking about this a lot and I really want to do this and she told me if I feel its right for me to go by a different name she fully supports me and wants me to be happy. She even mentioned how many famous people have their birth name but go by a different name that artistically and freedomly represents who they are on the inside and not what society tells them they have to be, like Marilyn Manson, Puff Daddy/P-diddy, ZrO, Prince. Snoop Dogg, Kreayshawn.
So I've been tossing around a few names the last couple months and am trying to narrow it down by testing out names I like.
So far I've narrowed my idea for names down to, Hogan, Briceton, Dimitri, Brooks, Cassius, and Carter. I've had my gf call me these names and It did feel good for to call me them to test the waters, especially during sex. I've even started introducing myself to people by my new idea names. She told me she really likes "Hogan" and "Briceton" she said she thinks they are sexy and suit me. And I gotta admit I feel like a "Hogan and Briceton/Brice.
I've mentioned this to my parents and they didn't like the idea when I first mentioned it but I think they are coming around.
What about you guys anyone here ever done this before or know any people that have done this? What do you guys think about either "Hogan" or "Briceton/Brice"?

Bryce is alright I guess, Hogan sounds like it's trying a bit too hard though. Makes me think of shit 80s action movies. And Hulk Hogan.
Your name's part of your history though, for better or worse, so I'd need a good reason to change it rather than 'I liked another one better'
Doug, my real name is alright I guess I've never really had a problem with it. But I just feel in my heart that it reflects who I am more so because I like how it sounds and the feeling I get when I'm called that or introduce people by it.
And yes I thought about Hogan sounding like hulk hogan but Hogan as first name has a different feel to me, kinda like hogans hero's, it sounds strong and forthcoming.

Doug makes you sound like a deeeb. That’s part of why I was lulled into a false sense of security about going over to your apartment at night. Whatever you pick make sure it sounds scary and rape-y. That will be most accurate.
Also, you’re picking names to sound like a rich white dude. Of which you are... neither... sadly.
