What are your estimated expenses and how do you justify their necessity to the project?

I'm still estimating the materials as I finish specifying components but it shouldn't be more than 60,000 US. Which I know sounds like a ton but a lot of people spend 45-60k on cars and I would use this a lot more than the average person uses their car.

The cost of your desk could pay for my district representative to be in session and voting on shit in the state capital for an entire year.

    Politician vehicle:
53-70,000 starting price for various trim levels. And it only has like one or two monitors in it.

Now that's a good $60,000 purchase, I'll throw a few thousand your way if you buy one of those.

this makes my comfy setup look lame.

Are you not worried about fucking your vision with all them big monitors in your face?

The hardest part for me always, is figuring out correct desk/chair height. They both have to have correct available heights for comfort. If you're building then I guess it'd be easy. I use some kind of marble table for a desk , and it would look like shit if I were to raise it.

OP, what kind of desk do you have now and what do you use it for that demands such an upgrade?

i dont have my own desk. i built my bed where it overlaps my rear seat so i can use it as kind of a table for a computer ,or eating off but the mattress is a bad surface for food and drink.

So I know walnut looks very nice and it's dense, but because this desk is so large, you're obviously going to need multiple pieces. To make it structurally sound, you'll want to choose a wood that comes from a tree with fewer branches than a walnut because cutting them off will create ugly knots in the finished surface. For it to look nice, you'll want a wood with a more consistent grain and which isn't subject to gradual lightening over the years.

If you want a durable workspace, go with oak, maple, or cherry. If you want it to really be opulent, go for mahogany.
