Come Fly With Me....
-
2015-09-26 at 8:50 PM UTCI have to fly a bit now in those aeroplane thingy's.
But I hate flying, well the take off bit mostly. When I am up and landing I am fine.
Anyway, does anyone know any good pills etc that may help?
The flights won't be too long so don't want something that will knock me out for hours.

2015-09-26 at 9:21 PM UTCetizolam, it lasts about 4 hours and if you just take one it will take the edge off and you can still remain alert. If I take two of them I get good sleep.

well etizolam has just about the briefest duration that I can think of when it comes to anxiolytic substances
unless I am just overlooking something, which is unlikely but possible -

You're overlooking something. While etizolam on its own lasts for about three hours its metabolites can make the duration of the entire experience take up to 9 hours. Obviously the effect is dose dependent. -
2015-09-28 at 12:34 AM UTCsigh, yeah if you want to get split-hairs technical, I overlooked something
but I was thinking more along the lines of reminding me of some benzo with a shorter duration that I drew a blank on.
OP....get some propofol and fly mj style -

2015-09-28 at 6:17 AM UTCwhat mmQ said...also, etizolam might end up working out for you after all, if you take it two hours before the flight it will assuage your pre-flight nervousness and the duration will carry you through your flight. 1 mg is pretty light, that dose doesn't even make me groggy, and it is pretty good at taking the edge off of anxious situations and you will still be in total control of yourself.
I wouldn't drink on etiz if I were you, though. -

When you say drink, do you mean I should abstain from a glass of wine or that I shouldn't go out to bars or take shots? I ask because I drink probably on a daily basis in varying amounts. -
2015-09-28 at 6:55 AM UTCOne drink on 1mg won't hurt. But as you know, benzos reduce or completely remove inhibitions, so after that one drink, another might seem like a good idea, and maybe another pill, then you forget about those and have another drink, and another pill...and the next thing you know you are naked, being pistol-whipped by an air marshal.

Sound advice. My sober mind is trustful of how I might act when inebriated, but that's not a good reason to take the risk. -
