A "faggot" does not have to approach for sexual relations with other prisoners. Some of them stay men with normal orientation. At all times there existed "functional", and "non-functional" faggots. But a faggots place, as a rule, was definitely in the "faggots place". As a rule, this is a place between the anus (shitter) and entrance to the cell.
Faggots do not simply get shoved under a bunk bed, as it was done before (**in overcrowded prisons, the lowest castes were made to sleep by the shitter, or under bunk beds. This was considered punishment). Where he will sleep, is determined by the manager; a convict appointed by the administration of the penal colony.
In Soviet times, when faggots were plentiful as dirt, they "lived on trees", they tied themselves to them, and also lived on roofs, basements (they lived in places where they're out of the way). In the end of the 80s, into the prison camps, started showing up letters from "criminal epaulets" (high authority criminals, crime bosses, etc.). The letters were about riddance of punishment by dick, so that faggots dont bitch out, and did not become bitter at people. So that they dont end up working (snitching) for the cops, and as to not spread homosexuality in prisons. For some years this punishments was still sometimes seen somewhere in prisons, but today it is no longer used.
In Soviet times, the paths of getting into the "offended" (faggot) caste, were very simple. Today authoritative criminals (shot callers) observe this phenomenon. You cannot simply shove someone into the faggot caste, there needs to be a good reason. One of such reasons, conviction for rape of a minor; the most despised crime in prison. Until the end of the 80s, thats the way it was. But this charge does not fit everyone: a court gives a conviction, and a judgement can be made illegally (in a crooked manner). Going into prison, a person explains what happened with him, the authoritative convicts make decisions. If a convict aspires to go into faggot caste, he goes there. If not, he proves via actions that he is a normal member of prison society. For example, he will decline offers of cell mates to have sexual relations (simply ignoring people telling you to fuck off, etc. can be seen as agreement.) How can a man of normal orientation agree to such an offer?
Finding himself behind bars, a person is in turmoil, falls into depression, and here to him, young and good looking, people offer a harmless life in exchange for cohabitation. Do you think he doesnt accept? Everyone has their own inclinations. Zoophiles, pedophiles, and other perverts, there are plenty in society. For me, cohabitation of a man of 30-35 years with a female pensioner is a deviation. And it is indeed deviant. Same thing in prison, some disdain, and someone likes it. In prison it clearly exists equally as much, as much as the prison itself exists.
In Soviet times, the section of faggots made up 5 percent of all convicts. In the 90s, their amount fell to 2 percent, and continues to stay more or less on the same level. In present times, quiet a few people with (pre-existing) homosexual orientation come to prison from the free world. They determined their lives before they got behind bars. "Offendeds" engage into sexual acts voluntarily, or out of necessity. They engage in sexual acts out of free will. Faggots get paid with food products, cigarettes, chocolates. Its always possible to refuse, faggots dont get raped. Being in prison, active homosexuals (tops) will sooner or later find a faggot for themselves. I guess that the faggot himself is subconsciously ready for sexual acts. Many practiced this in the free world.
When a convict wanted to engage in relations, he offers the faggot a payment. You took the offer (candy, cigs, whatever), means that you agree. Go to the basement, back room, wherever, even the bathroom. I remember how in one of the prisons, a prisoner who raped a 3 year old child, overnight in the bathroom, got fucked by nearly 40 people. And this was also by agreement. Yes. And later, this convict wrote a statement (snitched) on everyone. The statement said he was raped, even though it was by agreement. Everyone paid. This fact confirms the opinion of normal prisoners that most faggots are people with limited mental capacity who can do anything that is wrong or messed up. A criminal case did not arise form the statement of this convict.
Is it possible to tell a faggot from external looks? Out in freedom, established homosexuals are very visible. In prison, not always. Prisoners with the lowest status are dodgy. They will loop around like snakes impersonating whoever, just not a faggot. It happens, that faggots are believed. People greet them, shake hands, drink prison tea (super strong black tea that gets you "high" due to concentration). In such cases both sides will have problems later. To a normal convict, people will give certain attitudes, even though they wont lower him to the faggot caste. And the actual faggot, for hiding the fact, they will knock out his brains. If a faggot tries to hide his status when he comes to prison on a new prison sentence, he will at first be fucked by everyone in queue, and then beat him half to death. Morally impacting such a person is useless; he is a homosexual. Its not even allowed to hit with with the hands, only with a stick or the feet.
But and to a faggot who knows his place, not a lot is allowed. It is prohibited to sit around the table with normal prisoners, greet by shaking hands, and also, it is necessary to concede to any person. To enter last into chow hall, to eat from separate plates, which do not get touched by the food scoop or food distributor. And holes, drilled into the metal food plates of faggots, today no longer exist (back in the day faggots plates had a hole drilled in them so normal people can avoid them, as touching anything of a faggot automatically made you a faggot).
Can a normal man find himself with status of a faggot? Yes, if he behaves himself inadequately, wont stand for his honor, and wont watch his mouth. Many go into faggot caste because they ran their mouth, blabbed about themselves. For example will say in the cell about how he slept with his wife. People will ask him a couple of leading questions, like, "did you lick there?". If they will get a confirmation, they will draw a conclusion; now do the same thing as a faggot in the faggot caste (cunnilingus considered taboo by criminal understandings), as everyone is refusing you.
If one prisoner unreasonably calls another a faggot, there can be unpleasant consequences.
