    FYI Folks. Pokemon Go was made by Niantic Inc. Niantic Inc is a company that was formed by Keyhole Inc. Keyhole Inc was a company that received investment capital from In-Q-Tel (that also invested in Facebook) which is THE VENTURE CAPITAL FIRM OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY. So, when you're playing your stupid Pokemon Go game just know you are helping the CIA domestically spy on American citizens. So keep that in mind when you are out walking the dog, hitting up a park, setting out lures etc in your attempts to catch make believe creatures in your augmented reality app. Congrats, you are now a a free contractor for the CIA helping them to violate the part of their 1947 charter that prevents them from spying domestically on American citizens. Now, you ask "Why does this even matter?" which is a valid question. Let's take a look * Within a week they have millions of users, carrying their phones around with GPS on and data being sent back to the servers. * The app used augmented reality, deploying virtual pokemon at locations your phone's camera is actively viewing * All of the 'gyms' and 'stops' are the town's town hall, churches and veteran groups like the VFW. So you have a company with direct ties to the CIA having millions of users walking around with GPS and cameras that are frequenting government, religious and veteran buildings pointing their camera at said locations. Say they have satellite coverage of an area and are surveilling someone of interest but they need to see what is going on better. What do they do? "We have x users in the are, deploy a new gym or stop or deploy a lure from a fictitious account now people should start congregating in the area giving us multiple vantage points without us needed to put assets on the ground.

    I never played the game. How far away does someone have to be to catch a pokemon? Like hypothetically speaking, if I saw one that was located in a parking lot near an elementary school and I parked a van in the exact location and left the door open, would they have to go into the van to catch it?

    Yeah cause it's not like your GPS and camera aren't there anyway right? You're overly paranoid. If they wanted to spy on you they'd already be doing it through probably multiple apps that ask for camera and GPS info. Pokemon go is NOTHING special in that regard and it's not even like they could reasonably process the information lol. And cmon really? The CIA? Get real, they have more important shit to do than spy on the public, not their gig.

If they wanted to spy on you they'd already be doing it through probably multiple apps that ask for camera and GPS info.     Not if you root your phone to gain super user access and kill all the services and apps and permissions of apps that have the potential to spy on you, you can get orfox and orbot to route your phone's connection through the TOR network as well. Which obviously i did, with the proper equipment you can even spoof your IMEI and IMSI you ignorant fuck.

    the thing snowden's working on at the moment is interesting in that regard. he's prototyping with some other hardware hackers - it's an RF scanner that you hold near your phone (currently it's looking like a snap-on case or a slip that attaches to it, but it's still early days and I doubt the design's been decided on); it connects to your phone presumeably using bluetooth to get status - ie. if you're currently using it, if it's on but idle, or if you've turned flight mode on, if wireless is enabled etc.

    at the same time it constantly scans the wireless signals coming from the phone (GSM/3G data is encrypted but you can glean info from which frequency it's using, signal level, amount of bandwidth, how long before signal level dips back down) and compares the signal levels with what it would EXPECT the phone to be using.

    for example, if you have flight mode on, the scanner should NOT pick up any radio emanating from the phone. if the phone's on but not being used, there should be very little radio going between the phone and tower. if you have the wireless module disabled, your phone should not be sending out radio on 2.4 or 5ghz.

    in any of these scenarios, the device will alert you that the phone is engaging the data connection unexpectedly and to investigate further.

    I believe it. Also there were alot of sketchy details about the snowden revelations. I wonder if similar will happen with these augmented reality games. Just like nobody stopped using facebook solely because the government was spying on them, nobody will stop gaymen because the government is spying on them either.

    I never played the game. How far away does someone have to be to catch a pokemon?     Many major Internet provider companies through North America are now using Department of National Defense IPs on their internal routers, as the very first hop after the customer's router, which means they only need to make them public and all the traffic will be routed directly through the DoD servers. They are lying and saying they ran out of IP addresses, and so the DoD was kind enough to lend them millions of their internal IP addresses, as long as they didn't use them publicly, but that is a total lie.

    Our government has been proven time and time again to lie to its citizens (speaking from the US here, since some of ya'll are elsewhere in the world, but I am sure you can say the same for your own country to some degree). That's enough for me to be skeptical of everything they say and everything they do. Its fact that millions of Americans have been illegally spied on by the government. You might say why does it matter to me? Well, it should because those same laws pushed through such as the patriot act go against our rights that has made America so different from other countries and has been the horn people trumpet of things such as freedom and due process. The patriot act allows the government to hold you indefinitely, without charges, trial, or conviction. All they have to say is it is related to 'terrorism' and nation security. They don't even have to document they have you. This is what is so frightening. People say 'oh yeah, like they'd do that to me. Or come on, they are using it to fight 'terrorism' fact is they can use it for whatever they deem fit and part of what made our nation great and different from so many places is that we used to have accountability- right to a speedy trial (if you don't waive it), innocence until proven guilty, due process, and the petitioner of any charges having to bear burden of proof (meaning you, the guy beimg charged, didn't have to prove anything- that's the burden of the prosecution. The patriot act and other bullshit things we've allowed through have pretty much have made all that null and void in any case they deem fit to strip you from your rights. WHY WOULD THEY EVEN WANT TO DO ALL THIS? and the only rational reason I can think of is because they feel hindered by our civil rights and constitutional rights, and they are up to some dirty shit.

    Very, very soon now, NATO will invade America under the noble banner of restoring order from the disorder they themselves created, so they will need to know everyone's habits, locations, family members, preferences, activities and complete identities. All US citizens will be put onto one of two lists: the blue list and the red list. The blue list will consist of people who can be used to put to work furthering the NWO agenda. The red list will consist of enemy combatants, which is basically anyone who has been critical of the government. Borders and classes will be eliminated. All local police forces will be eliminated. All children will become the property of and put into the custody of NATO. Everyone will be disarmed. The Constitution and Charter of Rights will be eliminated. All potable water, all foodstuffs, all energy sources, all materials, including vehicles, boats and homes, and all infrastructure, will become the property of NATO, under control of the new one-world government, which will replace all current government.

    How will NATO invade shit if Trump stops paying them?, or did you write this in 2001?. NATO can't even beat ISIS, and their "overthrow" of Gaddafi just created more ISIS.

    Europe will be Muslim in my lifetime, there is nothing stopping it. The Ottoman empire will rise along with the Islamic State and NATO will cease to exist.
