Advanced search function?

   I'd like to search keywords in thread titles only so that I can find out if a thread about a topic already exists before making one myself. Currently, my search results yield a series of posts in unrelated threads. Not a huge deal, since the forum I want to post in right now doesn't have a huge number of pages in its history, but this might be helpful going forward.

   Is an advanced search generally a much more resource-intensive way to search that would slow down the site?

   If I end up making threads that have already been made, it clutters up your screen unnecessarily. Not entirely selfish, therefore, but if Aldra is right, I would agree that it's not ideal to add an advanced search. My last request, by contrast, was purely selfish.

   Yeah, I've been meaning to add some search refinement for a while, just haven't gotten around to it. Regex is out for perf as aldra brings up. I would like to let users search by forum and by poster. and being able to search thread titles and enhancement to just OPs would be useful. I know all of those except searching just the content of opening posts can be done efficiently.
   
   It would actually be pretty simple to do, at least enhancementing by forum or user, if anyone wanted to give it a try. If not I made a ticket and I'll get around to it one of these days.
