Warhammer fantasy or 40k, Lord of the Rings SBG - anybody played these?

   I used to frequent my local Games Workshop as a teenager. I was the resident lore nerd for all of our Lord of the Rings players, and I was actually a very good player. I won a few local tournaments, but I never thought I was good enough to go to a national convention. I also dabbled in 40k, but I didn't keep up with the new editions and sold off my army.

   You really had to be well-off to play any of these games. My parents weren't wealthy by any means, but if either of them hadn't graduated college I would've been pretty much disqualified.
