Does anybody here currently hold a Chinese visa

2018-03-18 at 7:17 PM UTCTrying to decide whether to apply for the L or F visa. (Probably L right? Not like I'd get a Z visa anymore.) I'm finding one of the requirements very annoying as well
Documents showing the itinerary including air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation, etc. or an invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China. The invitation letter should contain:
A. Information on the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
B. Information on the planned visit (arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, etc.)
C. Information on the inviting entity or individual (name, contact telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual)
Like, what the fuck? They want me to buy a ticket and book a hotel before I even know I'll be allowed into the country? How goddamned fucking annoying. -
2018-03-18 at 7:21 PM UTCI might just get my Chinese friend to write that letter instead, since I plan on visiting him. It would be easier that way. But the round trip, gawd. What if I decide to stay longer? Or leave earlier? Gotta eat that round trip ticket price or pay (if I can) to get the date changed with the airline. But that might cause problems with the authorities when I do try to leave?

Do you know what year, and if she got a Z visa, or still has it? In 2016 they completely fucked up the visa system and now it's really hard to (legally) teach in China without a bachelor's, which I don't have. -

I'm expecting riots in the next ~20 years as the upper, educated/worldly class gains a foothold and the brainwashed cultural revolutionists who grew up destroying temples in the 50's start to die out.
It'll be interesting to see another Black Mirror episode happen in real life.

I just want to travel. Would like to work, but it's more legal trouble than it's worth imo. Would rather work legally in some SEA country that provides the same sort of 'personal freedom' that China has. -

No it won't lol. You can post hate for china on reddit, in china. It's completely legal. They don't care. But if you live there, they will watch your every move and follow you home and whatnot. Citizens have it the worst.

They would, if I lived there. But they can't do something like stop me from flying/traveling (like they do to citizens) without breaking the law. I'd have to actually be suspected of a crime. And again, talking shit on the government is not a crime. It is in cambodia. But Chinese people actually have legal freedom of speech. It's just, you know, the government has the power to make your life shittier over it. But it's not a crime. People don't go missing in the night or anything (anymore lol)
There have actually been marches remembering the people who died in tianamen square. When it is sanctioned (like every gathering legally has to be in the us, and why they arrest people when it's not) its fine. When it's not, they arrest everyone. But they also do things like remove power from those who sanctioned it, so nobody wants to do it, but legally, they COULD.
I'm not gonna be arrested for posting on NIS. I'm more afraid of lingering cannabinoid metabolites in my piss. -
