Yeah I was there once in 2012 to see one of my favorite bands perform live. My cousin took me to the Mayan theater which was in downtown, the area was really dirty and rundown and I saw homeless on the sidewalks stumbling about drunkenly being harassed by police. But surely there are nicer parts.
