Fucking back then in the early 00s it felt like people on TOTSE were actually legit interested in being part of that community.
They had actual conversations, people forged actual friendships and believe it or not a lot of useful knowledge was gathered and cataloged on that site.
That was a very fundamental part of my childhood, those people were the friends and guardians I lacked.
This is going to sound ridiculous, but I would browse that site on old handme down desktop computers I would get at garage sells the kind with the speakers attached to the monitor and the whole thing would smell like a smoker used the navi.
Fuck I miss the goddamn days of desktops and crts, 1990 - 2005 was the golden era of personal computing.
I feel so alienated by the current mobile era. -

I remember actually having real conversations with people while playing unreal tournament rather than the smack down fuck feest assholes who are on cod and all the other shit I stopped playen.
Bottom line is people suck. -

I still use a desktop computer built in 2005, an IBM ThinkCentre, with WindowsXP on it and I'm still re-playing games from 2000-2005. Like right now I'm playing Unreal - Return to Na Pali. Most of the programs and utilities I currently have in use are also from that era. -

I have been wanting to do the same thing once I get a Rift, build a world in VR that resembles 2006 and live in that world forever.
I'll only have things from the 20th century and 00s and the entire thing will be so detailed that after spending a while in there you'll forget that the 00s ever ended. -

was it? i never heard that before. i was never a 4chan user tbh, so i couldn't argue either way. i never really got all that whole 'anon' thing, seemed pretty fucking dumb to me. you never know who the fuck you're replying to or who the fuck is replying to you from one moment to the next.
