2018-03-05 at 10:33 PM UTCSomeone was saying the older lady sexes the water creature.
like it's a take on Beauty and the Beast.
That would be Beastiality. Has anyone seen this film, is it fucked up like this? -
2018-03-05 at 10:34 PM UTCHuh?

2018-03-05 at 11:03 PM UTCIt wouldn't be any worse than a petite white girl fucking a 6'6" gorilla beast.

2018-03-05 at 11:07 PM UTCThe trailers seemed interesting - they played it like it was bioshock the movie or something.
That'd be cool. Like Bioshock Star Trek. I'd see that.
Apparently it's just a narrative promoting immigration though. -

I'm super liberal but recycled plots that only take on sci-fi in the most superficial, inclusive way are part of what's ruining cinema in the states. -

So even Captain Liberal is fed up of story lines with the classic forumlaic elements: kindly female scientist, strange creature who just means well, xenophobic and bigoted white males. -
2018-03-05 at 11:39 PM UTCIn order to taste my cup of water you must first empty your cup. My friend, drop all your preconceived and fixed ideas and be neutral. Do you know why this cup is useful? Because it is empty.
Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you putwater in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.
Running water never grows stale. So you just have to 'keep on flowing.'
Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. -

I'm fed up with oversimplifications of cultural phenomenon inserted haphazardly into shoddily written scripts. My politics have little to do with how I receive a film, mostly because I think if someone has a very important political argument to make, they should be making it on a debate stage, not in a movie theater. In the US, that is. -
2018-03-05 at 11:58 PM UTCDo you guys realize it's basically a rehash of The Creature of the Black Lagoon?

I would say jedis, but it's actually a Mexican Anti-Trump allegory.
"Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro said Monday that Donald Trump’s America is like a cancerous tumor that has been gestating for decades."
I can actually see the parallels between fish people and Mexicans.

Stop trying to trick us, fish. -
2018-03-06 at 12:01 AM UTCI might go to see it just because I generally like del Toro's storytelling, but I am not happy to waste 1.5-2 hours and ~$8 on political commentary that I could get on any college campus for free.

so a real gorilla or a typical racist rant of hating inter-racial love.
this is bestiality. and unnatural and unholy act on film of a make believe fish person (apparently) and probably a future experiment or one that probly really happened.
Science and Hollywood and their got damn predictive programming. -

No I'm talking about a literal beast/gorilla. Beauty and the beast it was a literal fucking animal not a black guy. -
