It's not the visual it's the emotions released of fear. we in society have stagnated fear and deep sorrow which only creeps up in dreams.
when the world comes to an end, and it gets closer and closer.. all people will drop to their knees and cry their hearts out. at first we will all be cocky but when you're tired and hungry and fighting for survival.. and people are murdering people and the population drops dramatically from our own species metldown of self termination.

2018-02-25 at 9:02 AM UTCRecently i had a dream of my mom dying. I took melatonin that night, which msde things super vivid. Had a weird sleep paralysis like moment where i thought i was waking up in bed the day after she died so i cried. Not sure if i was actually awake or if it was a dream, but yeah. Melatonin keeps giving me nightmares but they're vivid and I like exploring them.

I've dreamt about zombies before, but I never really minded the smell or the hygiene issues. They were annoying more than anything.
My scary dreams are all about being trapped, or being alone. -

My wife is the same way. So much so, she won't take it. It doesn't affect me like that (vivid, profound dreams). It does her though. Interesting to see someone else describe essentially the same thing. -

I am typically in a haunted house of some sort or in prison and rarely, being chased. -

I pretty much am the same, but when I do have a legit nightmare, I apparently whimper in my sleep when I am screaming in my nightmare. So it wakes my wife up and she, in turn, wakes me up. I have asked her what it sounds like. She describes it as muffled whimpering, whereas to me, I am screaming. Haha. Weird. -

I've looked around online. Quite a few people get this effect.
I don't always get them. Maybe 1/5 times i take it. The nightmare to dream ratio is about 1:1. I'm hoping/trying to have a lucid dream through it by being more aware of my consciousness. Which sounds faggy but I just remind myself im awake now and then so that I'll hopefully do it in a dream too. -

I have only had one scary nightmare in recent years and it wasn't the kind of scary you scream at. I smelled rotting flesh. Pungent. It was fucked. There was a human body somewhere. Rotting. I panicked.
What kind of little bitch is screaming in their dreams though. Lol. Fag. -

lol i get those dreams like 5 times a year and they are scary. i also get dreams about cats, like kittens all the way to tigers clawing me up.
i had a dream where i got out of bed and broken glass was all over the floor and i cut me feet up and fell in the glass and my cat was attacking me.
i also have reocurring dreams of my brother in his younger 8 year old body crying. -

The human race going into their adult years, and in a world that ultimately pampers them from the days of their forefathers, have hampered their emotions. Fear being one of the biggest.
when the real thing comes along, they all turn ashy white with fear. frozen in place like they do in certain dreams. barely able to mutter a word.
See how one reacts when they look out their window and see a massive F5 tornado coming at them. or suddenly rocked by a large quake. or those old AirRaid sirens ripping out several hundred disciple ranges of sirens letting you know that it's not lunch-time nor the third wedsday of the month. It's North Korea.. and they advanced well enough. Those feelings you have in your dreams will be real. and they truly can be crippling. and they truly can control speech, breathing and automated muscle movement or lost of control of ones own bladder. -
