Multi-Quote?

I just responded to a thread where I needed/wanted to quote multiple quotes from multiple users. Unless I am hardcore retarded (which I might be), I seem to be missing the button to allow that. Instead, I have to quote, scroll up, quote, scroll up, quote, scroll up. It's a bit tedious, yeah?

How about a dedicated multi-quote feature?

    kthnx.

You just press quote on one post.

When I press quote on a given post, I am auto-scrolled down to the new post box. I was talking about being able to flag post #1, post #4, post #7 etc without being auto-taken to the new comment box.

Oh on mobile it doesn’t do that. I don’t post from PC often

Lanny refuses to admit his software is shit. You know who DOES have multiquote? Newtotse.com
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

Lanny said you have to hold shift while clicking on the quote button. That leaves no option for mobile users, unfortunately.

On iOS this is enabled by default. It doesn’t take me down to the reply field when I click “quote”.

    I have to scroll down

That doesn’t happen on android. Lanny uses iOS himself, which could explain why.

HDL, you can plug your shitty site if you want but don't shit up threads that actually have a purpose.

Hmm, I didn't actually realize this was how it worked despite using iOS but I guess you're right. Also wasn't thinking about mobile either. What would you guys think about long-press for multi-quote and uniform behavior of jumping to the reply box otherwise?

I'm okay with just having to hit quote like normal. Don't see a reason for long press? People who don't read this thread wouldn't even know about it and it's kinda counter-intuitive. Jump on first quote is a good idea.

I mean the long-press to quote without the jump-to-post behavior. So normally pressing quote wouldn't change (except for iOS where it formerly didn't jump to the reply box in any case) and long press if you want to quote multiple posts without jumping to the reply box.

Oh, I see what you mean now. That's more complicated than it needs to be imo. What's wrong with

    1st quote- jump

    2nd quote- no jump

    3rd quote- no jumpez

    etc.

I mean, in what situation will somebody want to multi-quote by pressing quote buttons regularly and want to jump to the bottom for each press? By making it so that you have to long-quote not to jump, you're creating a situation in which that will probably happen, and it will probably be annoying, because almost nobody will know about or use/remember to use this feature.

How about Force Touch (™)? That would be way better than long press

How about just whatever it was on &Z. The multi quote button so you can click all the quoted then go down and respond as necessary.
