IDK fam, i listen to a lot of kinds of music but i particularly enjoy music that has some emotional significance either by the the tune or the lyrics. Usually the songs i find most beautiful are pretty sad. Do you think listening to a lot of sad music could contribute to an overal worse mood than normal, or conversely would listening to happy music contribute to an overal better mood?
Yeah I listen to a lot of shoegaze when I want to be more introverted and think about my life and then sometimes I will blast korn If I need to be more edgy and aggressive, sometime I will blast some wavves if I'm in a pizza, skateboarding and girls kind of mood.
There are some bands I can't barely even bare to listen to anymore because of the way it affects my mood so dramastically, (yes I just made up a word)
I do think the music you listen to can have an effect on your mood but I don't think "sad music = bad mood". As in any medium, tragedy appeals to us by means of catharsis, it's probably possible to go overboard and turn it into something morbid but I think the sad stuff can have a calming ultimately positive effect. If anything I think hyper aggressive music has the most potential to bring down a mood, like swans type stuff. I like it, but too much at once gets to be a real downer.
Also that Life is Strange ed track makes me cri everytiem
I also like "tales from the darkside's" song, whenever it came on I would ask my mom to change it and she wouldnt and I would curl up in a ball of fear
