Can you imagine how alone and frightened and existentially horrified we'd be (moreso) if we were born into a universe where we were the only human (and we procreated only once a lifetime as an asexual organism - and then our parent died during birth so we'd never talk to it). That'd be fucked. We're lucky to live in a world with so many other organisms like us to communicate with.

It wouldn't be that bad because we'd lack a language to contextualize our existential crisis. Or maybe it'd be that much worse because of that. Not knowing a language leads to significant cognitive impairment though (see: deaf people before sign language) so maybe we'd be too impaired to care or understand just how shitty our lot in life was.
