    I'm a paranoid mother fucker.
Today one of steam wish list games was on sale so I went purchase the game and suddenly Steam didn't have my billing info anymore and they want me to enter all my info again.
My CC is up to date and I just purchased a game like two weeks ago WTF.
Anyone else come across this fuckery?

It's happened before. I never questioned it. Like... who cares, man? Buy the game. *shrug*

The good thing about credit cards is that it's not really your own money, so if someone does some shit the bank will almost always give you back whatever money you lost.

Never experienced steam dropping payment info. You can always contact their customer support although personally I'd do the same thing as HTS: just re enter my info and be done with it.

You're using the desktop client yeah? Not much risk of that being a phishing operation, although if you're going through a browser I'd double check the url just to be safe I guess.

    Does Steam accept Vanilla Visa?

I'm going to start using VV for online transactions. Its a little bit safer but I get a lot of fraud calls at work and most seem to be online transactions.

I think so, they charge like a debit card right? You can use a debit card just fine. Also you can go through paypal.

But like someone already mentioned, disputing a transaction is easy. Buying a game on steam isn't exactly a high risk activity. It's actually the steam accounts themselves that are the targets because the games and inventories can be worth thousands and the average value is probably pretty respectable as well. I bet a steam account sells for a lot more than a CCN and CVV.

Yeah, but yo might have to use Vanilla's site to add your zip code to the card. I remember I used to have to do that anyway.

If you have a dank credit card it will allow you to make virtual credit card numbers and you can assign dollar amount and time limits to them, which allows you to buy 1 month porn subscriptions without any fear of recurring charges.. or like whatever else you might want to do

Yes, but like HTS said, registering the zipcode is required for online transactions.

Some places don't accept these cards though.

it's probably just expired cache or you cleared it somehow (verify core files? I dunno).

I typically use PayPal for online stuff, transactions financed directly from debit card so there's nothing in the account should they try to freeze it
