More evidence to back up my claims, is imagine some guy getting butterflies in his stomach thinking about a woman, caring deeply about her well-being, desiring an intimate connection with her, etc.
You want to slit his fucking throat, don't you?
Now imagine him thinking those things about another man. A bit less gay, isn't it? You don't really wanna raise your switchblade this time.

This thread demonstrates that the notion of performative gender/sexuality is actually a very popular idea when it's not being proposed by scary looking women with short haircuts. Most people in our society think there's something more to homosexuality than fucking someone of the same sex.
The very fact that this question is coherent, can be asked and understood, indicates that we all know "being gay" has emotional and social elements rather than being some brute physical fact.
This line of reasoning also quickly leads to fluidity identity theories since once you admit sexuality is grounded, at least in part, on emotional states it becomes necessary to hold emotional states lack fluidity which is of course is a non-starter.
Welcome to the slippery slope of critical theory BITCHES

equally gay
is it gay to whack penises against each other though? even if it's not inherently sexual
Hmmm. Lots of variables to consider.
Are these ongoing circumstances or a single-case event, as in a singular man-to-man night of sucking and fucking, then back to normal, or intimate, romantic feelings toward a man for a brief period of time?
If you have intimate, emotionally connected feelings toward a guy, what distinguishes that between feeling the same way about a male friend that you totally feel close to and care about? Are you also physically attracted to this person?
Why would you be in love with another guy but not want to have a physical relationship with him?
This seems to me to be a matter of friendship vs the additional feelings of sexual attraction that would bump the friendship up to 'in a relationship,' which implies a physical connection or attraction is taking place.
So without having those answers I would agree with those who say they're equal. Flip the script. What's more straight, sucking and fucking with women who you want nothing to do with outside of that, or being in love with a woman who you don't find phsyically attractive? Either way, you clearly like girls.
