Restoring optimal brain performance after years of neglect.

So over the years if been doing way too many drugs, smoking way too much weed and not really challenging my brain.
Ever since quitting the weed i've felt a little bit brighter but not that much really.

I've been considering https://www.lumosity.com/ for regular brain workouts, but i'm unsure about the underlying science behind the tasks presented. Its hard to determine whether or not it will improve your overall brain function, or only make you better at these specific tasks. I mean, i don't wanna spend time doing this if it only makes me better at doing this and not improve my "real life brain power" I need some input on that.

    Now for some supplements:
I need something to improve overall performance. My speech has gotten horrible and i can hardly finish a sentence before i stop and need to think about what i was saying and then forget it. I've been hearing about beta brain and i tried noopept a few years back but they fucked badly with my heart rate
    Anyone tried beta brain?

I've also been told that lions mane is fast ticket to neurogenesis, so i'm ordering a batch of these home myself to dramatically improve my memory.

Please tell of your experiences with nootropics if u have any, and suggestions to overall brain performance improvement is also welcome.

I've recently been using memantine and piracetam. Each requires cumulative dosing, but the payoff is superb and tremendously helpful for my creative purposes.

Never tried beta brain but Animal Paks have pretty much everything in them. I can tell when I take it and when I don't.

Improved speech though? Are you better able to communicate and describe your thoughts?

Racetams have the best clinical track record of popular nootropics if you really believe you suffer from cognitive impairment.

I'm a little skeptical of luminosity, but only because their advertising is scummy. I haven't seen any evidence either way with respect to its actual efficacy. I would say it's a much better bet than any nootropic cocktail you're going to cook up. There's good evidence that cognitive performance like recall can be trained and improved (like not just you can learn to remember more things, but you can learn to memorize things faster) so at least the general space luminosity operates in has better empirical support than nootropics.

Smoking weed is not a good deed, and once you do crack, there's no going back. You'll go broke, always snorting coke, and DXM will rot your brain stem. Now on to meth? Get ready for death.

you're not going to get smarter if you just rely on nootropics to do it for you. if you really want to get smarter, teach yourself math or chemistry or something. or even something easier, like get into a hobby that requires learning, like gardening or some shit. and read books, as consciously as you can, and think about them.
