I was friends with this middle eastern immigrant dude who had come to the US, started smoking weed, and going to school and shit. We were lab partners in a few classes and would hang out after school and smoke weed sometimes and talk about philosophy, which he seemed to always be really into. Anyways we kinda went our separate ways after a while just due to schedules changing and shit and then one day I see him post something to social media about his innocence of something so out of curiosity I googled his name and it turns out he was arrested for apparently trying to kidnap some girl.
I don't really believe he did it but you never know, I think there's a darkness lurking beneath everyone somewhere and you never know what kind of shit somebody is thinking in secret. Apparently the evidence was pretty sparse though and the case got dropped.

I had a friend who was a real goody two shoes (he's now dead) we would smoke weed and he had a script for xanax and he'd pop a couple more than prescribed nothing too crazy, I got him into doing heroin and over the course of 5 years he became such a huge piece of shit, he was a smart dude and was a pharmacist and also worked for a drug company but ent up just turning into a total junkie.
He eventually quit doing heroin but then just started smoking meth and robbing meth heads and going to gay orgies. I eventually quit hanging with the guy, he actually stole my tattoo gun and I think he may have stole my bike that I had for only 2 weeks.
I'm also pretty positive he some how got one of my spare keys / took my key and made a copy and went into my place when I wasn't there.
It sucks that he died but he was up to some real shady shit and I think he might of been working with the cops which wouldn't surprise me considering his brother was a narc agent.

This dude I used to fuck with in high school ended up killing his ex father in law with his own gun(his father in laws gun). He was robbing to get money for heroin if I remember right. Anyways they offered him a deal of 14 years/time served/no parole he declined it and got life without parole at 28 years old. He was kind of shitty to begin with though so oh well no huge loss.

I have a friend who's said some stuff that suggests he's had some fairly serious legal trouble in the past. We've talked about taking "hard" drugs before and he's gets kinda cagey when talking about whatever it was that happened so it can't be drugs, has to be something more stigmatized. Bar fight or whatever seems like something you don't particularly need to hide. I've thought it might have been statutory rape before since that's sufficiently awkward that you'd probably try and avoid ever talking about it and assuming it's a romeo/juliet type thing allows me to preserve my image of him. Still, can't help but wonder about the most extreme scenario, like maybe he murdered a hobo for kicks or something.

What's the nature of the kidnapping charge? Those vary widely. Even a citizen's arrest gone wrong can be labeled 'kidnapping'.
