No but I'm not too edgy/hardcore about it IMHO. I just find it comforting that I will cease to be exist after death. IMO it will just being asleep forever only no more dreams. Honestly sounds about the most peaceful thing I can think of. A long sleep I never wake up from.

I believe in God but this is honestly what I hope death is. Either that or the whole "life review, then Astral plane, then reincarnation" thing that I've heard a lot lately.

I've had the hell thing drilled into my head as a child, though I don't really believe in it. A hell (and heaven too, honestly) seem like they wouldn't be a fitting end to life here, even if every word of the bible is true. Our eternity being decided based on what we did/believed for 80 years (which is, in the scheme of time, absolutely nothing) seems absurd to me.

But it's enough to dissuade me from suicide just because "what if they're right?"

There was this one time where out of nowhere I had this super vivid dream about god. I basically met this old woman who transported me to an asteroid belt in some distant star system and explained to me the glory of god and all the secrets of life.

Then I woke up and was like “well that was weird”. It seemed like god was sending me a message but I was just thinking to myself, “that doesn’t prove shit though. If god really wanted me to believe in him then he would send me some kind of sign right now while I’m awake in real life.”

Then like 5 mins later someone knocked on the door and it was 2 teenagers with a bible asking me to come to their bible study group.

I just thought to myself like “man this is such an amazingly random coincidence” and told them no, went about my day.

No, nothing resembling a personal god.

If I had to use one word, I'd use "deist"

In retrospect, that woman may have been Mary, Mother of Jesus.

That's pretty funny. Also, i bet if the second coming of Jesus happened right now. People would just crucify him all over again, or the modern equivalent. Then God would facepalm. And at that point if i were God i would just say: Fuck it. And bring the flood all over again but without Noah.

Also i don't believe in God. My gf does, she's catholic.(Insert pedo jokes here) but i think i know more about her faith than she does.

Yeah I had this discussion with a friend of mine, if some guy claimed to be the rebirth of Jesus, what would it take for him to convince you? That's the thing about ridiculous ideas, the second you bring them into realityland and run with them and they break down. They only work as isolated little fairy tales.

It's more than a belief, it's a way of looking at the world differently. Some people would call it god. We are all connected, we are all divine beings, the self is an illusion.

But besides that way of looking at the world I do believe that given enough time and resources man will create a God.

Similarly, I had the dangerous Islam discussion with my mom, and if she would be fine with if my dad had a second wife... She was like "ummm... It depends on... It could be fine but... I wouldn't be happy but..." And basically arrived at "no, not at all but I can't disagree because it's part of the doctrine".

Then I delivered the killing blosw: what if his second wife was 8 years old, like Ayesha?

    Omae wa mou shindeiru

This time it was just mental gymnastics.

Like no, that was a different time with different norms, Ayesha was actually 12 (like that makes a big difference? Dude was a pedophile), women's bodies matured differently back then (source? This was 1400 years ago, it's not like we suddenly evolved to age slower), so basically "no, now that my sensibilities are too strongly challenged, but I still can't disagree with doctrine".
