The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has scheduled a briefing for later this month to outline how the public can prepare for nuclear war.
"While a nuclear detonation is unlikely, it would have devastating results and there would be limited time to take critical protection steps. Despite the fear surrounding such an event, planning and preparation can lessen deaths and illness," the notice about the Jan. 16 briefing says on the CDC's website, which features a photo of a mushroom cloud.
The notice went on to say that most people don't know that sheltering in place for at least 24 hours is "crucial to saving lives and reducing exposure to radiation."
So get under a stable table and stick your head down between your knees and legs and KISS YOUR ASS GOODBYE

Buy a couple half gallons of Water, a case of bottle water, Bumble Bee tuna or Chicken snack packs (At Target store where the tuna is.. they have a 2 year storage lifespan and come with crackers and are like only 1.20 and sometimes on sale for 99 cents.. buy up the entire shelf of both. and get the warm shelf of pudding pack premade. get some paper cups, and plastic spoons and buy some soda (for electrolytes) and go to the sample section of Target over by the instore CVS pharmacy and buy a travel pack toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner and mouth wash. buy a plastic bin and stick all that shit in it, and make room for it in your car. It's a survival setup.
Lots of people in NYC and California are gainfully employed and live out of their cars. Rent cost to much and or they are like me and wouldn't want a room mate for the amount they could afford. so put it in the trunk and throw shit out you really don't need to make room for it, or place it in the bin as well. the bin should keep it cool. otherwise leave it on the floor of the back seat area which is the coolest part of the car and keep the windows slightly cracked. If someone breaks into your car, it's best to leave windows down a bit then them smashing the windows and costing you 2 hundred dollars a piece. -

2018-01-06 at 8:52 PM UTCI'm still having problems saving money. I get to get more time in at work.
I want to save as much as I can so when I'm 63-65 I can collect Social Security (whatever it will be then.. 800-900?) and take what savings I can do in 15 years and buy some land in Utah or bum fuck Texas. Just a few acres and build me an Earth House
Underground.. With cans and tire and pack them in with dirt But I won't do it above ground.. I'm gonna ask the farmer who sells me the lot to dig me out a giant square hole (or round) with his backhoe
About 18-20 feet deep. and in the hole he will also build a separate hole that's 22-24 feet deep about 8x8 and a slope going down. In the 8x8 I will place a septic tank and run a large pvc piping up to suck the shit out when I need to. and in the other whole, I'm gonna build a 4 foot high riser and throw a 14x20 foot tuff shed down on top of it, and attach it to the riser. and fill everything in after I place some electrical wiring and do the plumbing. Keep it simple.
Then fill it in with dirt and ground up lead pellets in the dirt or go buy a bunch of lead weights at Big 5 sportings and mix it into the soil to aid in protecting me from radiation poisoning. It will be in the soil topped with soil, and there will be some kind of water resistant buffer wall between the soil and my underground Cellar Dweller.
I will cut a hole in the roof of the tuffshed (or just buy one without one and place a simple floor joyce and water resistent floorboards as the roof, cut a whole for a spiral staircase and ventalation pipes and use charcoal enhancements on the ventalation pipes with cones at ground level (maybe blend it in with a rock garden with plants) and then build a shed or an hothouse/greenhouse on top. which I will grow vegetation until the big one comes.
and fome inside this have the stairway go down to my Cellar Dwellings.
Over time I may expand my dwellings into a larger one. and I will store food. I want to pull water off of a stream but I'm told it's frowned upon. so I might have to ship in water and build a large ass reservior neat to my place.. concrete. and store as much water and have a inhouse filtration to purify it.
Showers will only be a few times a week. So it's gonna be rank living. on the other days I can only bucket bath.. with perhaps recycled bucket bath water.
And I will laugh at all of you off the grid city dwellers forever on.
Im' gonna pull all of my teeth out and make my own dentures out of animal bones.
I'm gonna build me my own track bike track and be the winner of my own track bike races. unless you want to come out and camp on my property and bring a track bike yourself. i'm ok with this. maybe bring me some extra soap and mouth wash if you can. I'll hit ya up later for the cost. -

1c off on Northern.
All that stuff looks modern somewhat.. but 29 scents for that butterscotch is like 2-3 dollars now?
that thing is rusted out.. they never used a water or septic pump to keep it dry. -
