Why are the names Jim and James used as the same?

  1. #1
    They're fuckin differemt.
  2. #2
I guess originally they were calling him "Jam" but when you say it really fast it sounds like "Jim".

It's because James is two syllables, and people are too lazy to use the second syllable. It went from James, to Jame, to Jim. (Jam was already taken)

I am pretty impressed though that you actually managed to find a resource that backed up your incorrect assertion so quickly. You are a fuckin Googling master
