That's probably about as far as I'd push it. You could just put some extra food and water dishes around, maybe even in other rooms for some reason. Obviously that's pretty much the only concern. That and the water will start to taste bad after not being changed for several days.

yeah the only thing is i honestly think he will until he throws up and then he'd just be hungry, i was just looking to leave xmas evening morning and return noon the day after xmas...
my gf is doing that with her cat, but my cat isn't like hers.
my last cat had a bunch of problems towards the end of his life, I had to leave town of a couple of days and i left him w myi uncle and he had to leave town also out of nowhere and left him tons of food and water (i know he did) and when he came back and while i was working that night, he said the cat didn't eat anything or drink anything, took him to the doctor and had to give him iv fluids and they said he was just way too gone and killed him. so im kinda nervous.

though if at all possible I'd get someone to come by once a day or so, at least then your cat won't go mad thinking you abandoned him
I'm just going to let my uncle in the next town over watch him, i figured he'd be gone. But when I left my cat for less than 24 hours for thxgiving he ate all the food i gave him (gave him a bunch) and he turned on the gas stove
I guess i probably worry too much, but I've had unexpected things happen with my cats while i was away.

Does your cat drink water from a bowl or no. I think if he does, you'll probably be fine. If not, you should have someone come feed him.
I have a ceramic bowl and a stainless steel bowl for him. He only likes dishes not feeders.
my gf thinks he'd be alright and she has a cat and a dog herself but she has roomies to with animals also that are always around.
My neighbor jake I trust to check on him if it all comes down to it but i know how my cat gets.
when i had my seizure 2 summers ago and my electricity shut off (not my fault) I stayed at a friends down the street and when i would come check on archie (only had him for like 3 months at that time, he was crying when i got there and I dont want him to go thru something like that.
