2017-12-10 at 9:59 PM UTCIt was in the 20's night before last. I live in Ohio though so it's not unheard of. I could see this being apocalyptic cold for someone in FL or some Asian country like Thailand. I remember reading somewhere in Asia they were handing out blankets because it dropped to 60F and they acted like it was an emergency lol. Often I can hop in my truck and upon turning into the gas station most men will still be wearing t shirts at this temp.
I really don't like cold weather of any kind though. There's literally no benefit to it that I can think of. It's depressing and the shortened days make daylight explode in and out of existence about every 5 minutes. Screw winter. -

I don't know how hot it gets in ohio but here in austin our winters are so short they are definitely welcomed compared to the almost near year round summer lol.. -

Yeah on the flip side if it were like 80 or around there most of the time I'd probably be pretty tired of that too. 70 year round would be ideal for me but then people would be like "omg...it's been 70F everyday for years. I can no longer handle this sameness *suicides* -
2017-12-10 at 10:48 PM UTC30F is a comfortable winter tho.

2017-12-11 at 7:32 AM UTCThis is going to sound hypocritical coming from a californian but 0C isn't that cold. Being hungry in winter does kinda suck dicks. It's a weird sort of experience, I don't know if it's just me but being cold and hungry is wierdly motivating. Like I guess it's "starving animal" mode but I've never been hungry to the point of starvation, it's just like everything feels more intense when you're cold and have nothing to eat. I have fond memories of freezing my balls off in seattle, eating one meal a day for weeks, writing this really long program that controlled a really janky piece of equipment. I was productive as a motherfucker though, and it was weirdly spiritual, like I was sustained by sheer will to make some piece of shit machine do what I wanted. I also kinda remembering crushing misery and wanting to die, but the possibly delusion-induced euphoria is clearer.

2017-12-11 at 7:34 AM UTCalso lol omurice. Never had it, I'm not big on eggs so it sounds kind of nasty to me, but it's always like the cliche thing kids like in animu and a big deal so I guess it's something I'll have to try one day.
