Well OP Don't bust on California itself or many of us who aren't so attached to the strong political realm. there are still lots of freedoms that other states don't offer.

I have never been at a random checkpoint I see happening in places like Texas. DUI (DWI) checkpoints once in a while or if you're coming into the state, there is a checkpoint for you bringing in foods that might bring pest into the state like Fruit Flies.

I mean they're legalizing the use of recreational marijuana I believe over 21 (or 18 I forget) and any age that still has a medical marijuana card. so that's going to be strange for us. some changes are good but the politicians today come off like drug lord gangs rising for power.

we dont have random checkpoints here in texas, we have no refusal weekends.. which you can still refuse which is the best thing to do because they have to then get a court order and have either an ambulance drive out to your car or they take you to jail and have a nurse draw your blood which by at that point you may be in the legal limit.

not really considering it cost over a thousand dollars to go to sxsw and people come from all over the world for that festival and other festivals. Do some research.

Most states need the others. we work together. Every state has resources that others need. Including desert states like Utah Or Arizona for things like uranium or and abundance of certain sands to make glass or iron deposits. California has a desert mass nearly that of Arizona with the same deposits. and 3 massive Mountain regions such as the Desert Sierra, Sierra and even part of the lower Cascades full of iron, gold, silver deposits and trees for building materials. the list goes on in this state. but we don't supply everything and we do have the highest population of any other state with Texas and Florida trailing us. So in theory it could survive as it's own country. and a lot easier than Texas can, with Oil productions slowing down over the next decades. We will always need Oil for making plastics or other needs yet it isn't as rich as California. and California has huge oil and shale pockets as well.. environmentalist wont allow them to be dug up.
