I don't know why but I'm more paranoid about the misuse of my voice than my tactile input.
Does this make sense? Do you guys control your stuff by talking to it? Is it next level? Will thumbs be redundant in the future? What's your opinion and maybe even more important, your dad's email?

Say 1 if you speech to text 'd your post. Press 2 if you didn't.

How would you even use video tags? This is bullshit.

Not crazy about speech to text systems, partly in theory and mostly in practice. My typing speed is about half my speaking speed so it'd seem like verbal input would be better but the error rate and difficulties in editing is so much higher that even conversational writing ends up taking longer. Improvements can bring that error rate down but I'm not sure what better editing properties looks like.
And in practice, due in part to the coevolution of specialized hardware (ala Echo, and more directly with Siri) to piggyback off the phone manufacturing apparatus, and in part to morally bankrupt data lust of industry giants, the way speech to text has played out is to ship audio signal to a 100% opaque third party over the network, have them do god knows what with it, and ship back a response. This is particularly sinister when the recording device is always on. It's another step in an unrelenting effort to slay privately owned and controlled general computers.

idk mine is 75% accurate on a good day. What's frustrating most about this feature is that it will string along sentences that don't make sense. You would think siri or whatever other supposedly supernaturally smart entity would be able to sort out simple shit like that.

I mean when you speak your posts does that work with the tags?
I don't have the fancy stuff, Lanny. I'm posting from a Nokia N-Gage with WAP. I'm not even on the internet.

IDK, maybe like "square open brace video square close brace"? Yeah, TTS for anything that has a precise syntax is always going to be miserable, like when I'm at someone's desk and I'm trying to explain what code to write and and it's like "open curly brace, no, that's a parentheses, shift then the key next to the p key" it's miserable despite the presumably having zero errors in recognizing speech. The spoken language just isn't able to express every construct that you can write.

When I was 11 and heard about the technology I thought keyboards and typing would be gone by now.

In text-to-speech it read as 'opening square bracket slash video closing square bracket.
But this doesn't account for being able to differentiate between your voice saying "slash" and meaning "/" or if you actually want the word "slash" typed out.

"Mmq - this is for you buddy," he said, before he downed a swig of Evan Williams from the bottle.
"Fuck bitches," he followed up with.
