I agree, but I'm a little doubtful on the bold part. I'd believe crime rates but I'm skeptical on income. There's a lot of visa holders that just get fucked on salary I would expect to pull that figure down. Do you have a source? I see the wikipedia article but the source it claims to cite doesn't actually seem to have a relevant stat. Also the education thing is a little questionable. There are some major differences between the American and, say, Indian education systems.

You know, now that you ask, I actually can't produce the stats.

But I'm not talking about fresh transplants, the Indian educational system has nothing to do with. I remember seeing data that subcontinental people in the USA have comparable rates of median household income, graduation rates, college attendance and graduation rates etc to chinks.

I wonder what the ratio of first to 2nd+ generation is. Working in tech my experience is overwhelmingly with first generation immigrants. Obviously that's not all there is, but the economic conditions that are driving this wave of (primarily indian) migrants is relatively recent, enough that I wouldn't be surprised if there are more first-generation desi people in the US than anything else.
