4chan
-
2017-11-16 at 2:03 PM UTCDoes anybody think it's extremely weird how 4chan turned out to be?
A website that started out as being centered around Japanophile/otaku culture was appropriated by the masses into being some reddit-like site for anonymous discussion that would become host to government conspiracies and even being used by the president himself.
What happened to all the other people who were there from 2004 - 2005, I don't really get the feeling that the people there now have been around very long.
I have been trying to figure out how this all happened, maybe it's just because that you can post there anonymously but come on don't these stupid fucks realize that it's an anime porn website.
It infuriates me how it turned out to be because the site used to be really awesome when the userbase was made up of the type of people THAT ACTUALLY BELONG THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE
that video only has 48 thousand views, compare that to the more recent videos about stupid shit like "anonymous" that get millions or hundreds of thousands of clicks.

^ THAT IS 4CHAN YOU NIGGER FUCKS
I WANT TO KILL ALL OF YOU PIGS THAT HAVE DESTROYED INTERNET CULTURE
NONE OF YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT INTERNET CULTURE IS
Goddamn nigger fucks
I miss the nerdy betamales
I miss the overweight otaku
I miss the creativity and original content
memes of today are so soulless and gross (in a mainstream way)
remember DQN electronics? that is legit one of the best albums I have ever listened to
has modern 4chan even made anything remotely interesting?
I go there now and it's like just a bunch of automated threads made by bots I see the same goddamn k-pop threads that have been popping up since 2009
what happened to all the original people, did they die or something?
THis is probably the most depressing thing that has happened to the internet is the complete collapse of that truly unique and original online culture -
2017-11-16 at 2:13 PM UTCI have a theory though
what if the site and the raids and the whole tom green thing was a psyop from the very beginning
take the whole "pizzagate" thing for example ... what the fuck is that all about why pizza?
nothing makes sense anymore I am truly convinced that I am inside a virtual reality prison I must have either done something wrong in the "real world" or globalism happened and the jedis are putting me through a rehab program.
Moot is probably Mossad
This website isn't real you're all bots this place is just to keep me distracted so I won't try to break free from this prison
it all makes sense now ... can I leave? -
2017-11-16 at 2:31 PM UTCI miss the 00s so much :(
that was the greatest decade of all time
the 2010s is like a train wreck or like the bicycle accident I had when I was 13 or 14
I can't identify with this decade at all everything feels so alien
you know having this site is like a link to the "past" for me
I can't stand web 2.0 it feels so corporate and alien you know what maybe that's it ... the modern net isn't user driven, it's very corporate .. that could be a factor in why I feel so negatively about the state of the web
Does anyone here know of some good web 1.0 style sites?
I might make a site of my own once I get stable -
2017-11-16 at 2:33 PM UTCI mean yeah you could say that something like facebook, youtube or whatever are "user driven" but what I mean are like the days when practically 90% of the web was made up of sites created by normal everyday individuals and geeks not huge corporations or silicon valley business types.
Those days don't have to be lost ... -

2017-11-16 at 3:57 PM UTCThis is the general complaint about every chan in existence ever. Except maybe 2chan, but it lives on kind of sequestered in the Nipponoshphere. In any case, everything used to be good, now everything is shit. Fringe sites are fun, because it's fun it attracts more popularity then everything shifts ever so slightly to the median and it becomes more fun for more people. Repeat ad infinitum and you have 4chan. Watered down so much it's barely even recognizable. The more it shifts to the common denominator the more it loses it's original appeal.

2017-11-16 at 4:57 PM UTCLife is really boring. Where anything interesting appears it will inevitably be swamped with hoardes of regards sooner or later.
Nothing interesting ever stays unpopular. -
2017-11-16 at 5:42 PM UTCthe same happened with acid house. in the late 80s it was underground with only the really cool people going. by the early 90s all the idiots cottoned on to it and the parties were suddenly swamped with muppets waving white gloves around, blowing whistles and coming up all monged out their faces and trying to rub vics on you and shit.

We just left, friend. I started around early 08, but it's just not the same. The magic is gone. Now it's just a lifeless husk of what once was, not even really shocking anymore, excluding politically for some. Now it's just sad. If I wanted to see the same shit pushed to the top ( more or less) is go to Reddit. That's why I'm here now -

2017-11-17 at 8:38 AM UTCMost people who talk about old 4chan actually mean old /b/, which always was and always will be unfunny shit. I know memes seemed really hip and edgy back in 2004 but it was really always on the level of middle schooler in-jokes.

2017-11-17 at 11:16 AM UTC4chan is okay but
Nobody is incentivised to post high quality content because it's anonymous
It's gay but the average online poster with a username really is driven by shit like rep or thanks or karma
Imagine spending 10 minutes typing out some shit just to have it washed away in a sea of degeneracy -

This, 4chan got boring because we grew up (a little bit). I know some kids at school who are btards and they use the cringiest slang. It's just hard to take someone seriously when they call your homework cancer. -
