-Education readily available for most anyone.
-Most everybody has food, water, and shelter.
-Freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.
-One of the least racist countries in the world.
-Standard of living is pretty high. Basically everyone is living a better quality of life than even the 1% were 100 years ago.
Mostly the things that people complain about are luxuries. America is a pretty great place to be, all things considered. I mean, I've never had to see my parents raped or killed by criminal organizations. I've never not had access to food and clean water. I've never felt like the government was stopping me from saying what I wanted. Healthcare? People in Sudan don't know the meaning of the word. They're busy working their asses off to send their child to a shitty ass school and whoring themselves out for food.
That we can even complain about healthcare or 'police brutality' is a fucking luxury. I feel like the people who complain about how shitty this country would probably complain no matter where they were. I've even heard some call America a third world country lol

Sometimes I can't help but think, that it's also our greatest disadvantage. Our "luxury" of carefree days filled with :firstworldproblemsmemes: has clearly distanced many of us from developing a stronger sense of sympathy and empathy to those living in unimaginable conditions, people that are no more than a 12-hour flight away, living in a completely different world so to speak, that we rarely if EVER even consciously give thought to.

Yeah. I've been to literal slums in Mexico with shit rivers running down the alleyways. People there did not have access to enough food to make them fat. They did not have the money for soap to wash their clothes and themselves every day. They didn't have internet, and their kids didn't even go to school. A- That law has been in effect since the 70's and effects only FOREIGN ORGANIZED BOYCOTTS. You can still boycott Israel if you want, you just can't join any foreign boycott to do it.
B- The fact that people can even complain about websites they don't like is a testament to the state of freedom of speech in America. You will never go to jail for expressing your opinion, or be killed, or tortured. I've even threatened the president before (in jest) and all I got was a stern warning by the secret service. Try posting something like that in China where the internet cafes all have keyloggers and the government literally owns social media and blocks TOR/has vpns banned. -
