Pretty much this. My gf who's much younger than me and naive to the ways to the world has tons of "friends" but to be honest I think most of them are acquaintances and its in her nature to try and constantly surround herself with people.
She lives with 2 other girls and they are the most humorless cunts I've ever met in my life, I guess they just don't like me... but even when she sends me pix and her girls are in the pix they have permanent bitch face, but as I guy I'm sure I'd be like that too if I had to be huddled up in a corner with 3 other guys snorting coke and taking dumps in a toilet that doesn't flush.
I have a hard enough time as it is living with my cat, thats why he had his own room and I have mine, we occasionally will hangout with each other, but we are the quintessential odd couple. -

Except that I don't know what to do when someone is crying or sad. I'm not experienced around people so I get nervous, especially if they show some type of strong emotion.
I feel less than others because I really don't exist. They have family, friends, and get to experience all kinds of things that I don't. In fact, this all makes it harder for me because I can't relate to anything they have done. It makes me nervous and forces me to withdrawal. It's like a cycle.
When people give me compliments, I always assume that they are only saying it to trick me in some way. So I actually don't like to be admired.

I'm trying but I can't figure out what is making people not like me. I think I need to spy of people. Like set a little hidden recorder so that I can hear if they talk shit about me when I walk away.

Some people talk shit about anyone and everything for any reason. There is not always a problem you can fix or a trait you can change or a different way you should act. If you are fine with yourself, how you are, then try not to be bothered by what other people think. It doesn't matter. You could be perfect, some people would still act like you're not worthy. Don't worry about it. Just be the best you can be and don't worry about the assholes. -
