   Anyone thought of doing this? My friend is a transient and stayed in this town somewhere between California and Nevada for like 6 months where a bunch of people live somewhat off the grid doing this, it sounds interesting.

    sounds pretty fun, you should start your own cult and get a bunch of young hipster girls to live with you to do your bidding / farm work. Not just any hispter girls, but the weird ones that go to shows wearing a backpack with nothing in it but a baby blanket.
    
    Just be careful with the opium, I'm not sure what the legality is with that but I think some people are allowed to grow it here in the states with a license
