2017-09-14 at 12:08 AM UTCgonna go see them next month anyone else like them? I got into that stuff when I was 14 but I've always been more into skinny puppy as far as that kind of music goes.
skinny puppy played here a few years ago but I didn't make it. I'm not that big into kmfdm but I'm sure it would still be fun and I like goth slutts

2017-09-14 at 4:06 AM UTCI was into Kmfdm when i was like 12.

2017-09-14 at 6:15 AM UTCI didn't know OhGr still played separately to Skinny Puppy
That said both Skinny Puppy and KMFDM are way past their peak; I was talking to someone else on here about KMFDM recently - they seem so far divorced from the sort of thing they sing about and their style of music now that it seems insincere. Back in the day you could feel the energy they put into albums like Adios and Symbols, but now they're constantly posting on Facebook about how happily married they are. And shit recipes. -
2017-09-14 at 6:17 AM UTCEvery now and then I read about how awesome the old Skinny Puppy shows were, performing against a despairing, projected backdrop of mixed animal testing and the effects of nerve agents or elaborate, disturbing sets like the Tree of No Cares and get depressed that I was like 4 when they were doing their best work

I didn't even know ohgr was a live thing at all. But anyways of course they are past their peak, just figured it would be a way to get out of the house for a night.
The jesus and mary chain is going to be here in november and I'm probably gonna go to that, their obviously past their peak as well but I've been listening to them for so long. -
2017-09-14 at 8:20 AM UTCAnd by the way aldra theirs nothing wrong with being happily married and sharing recipes, people change as they get older. I'm definitely not as punk rawk as I used to be.
It's unfortunate theres not many new bands coming out these days. The last 2 shows I went to was dj shadow and choking victim which as we all know have been around for quite a while. It's just a lot of new "rock" music is WEAK SAUCE! The newest band that I'm into seeing live is wavves but even they have been around for awhile now.

YEAH, but that's what I mean - they have the same sound and try to project the same image as the old days, but they've changed so much it just doesn't fit them anymore -

well recipes and facebook post aside (wasn't aware of that stuff haven' listened to them in years) I'm going just strictly for the performance and to get out of the house, im sure it will still be entertaining and the tix aren't even expensive.
I will report back.
I saw blink182 back in the spring and I know some people might consider them cheezey, and I was kinda thinking it was going to suck because toms not in the band anymore.
And they don't joke around in the same immature way they used to when they were in their early twenties but it was still one of the most fun times I ever had.
Same thing when I saw slipknot, they don't JUMPAFUKUP! like they used to but they made up in other ways and it was crazy to see.
I dunno man it looks like the people at this show are having a good time
