Since the trojan will open the port from within the PC itself, the incoming attempt will not be seen as unsolicited by the router, and the connection will be allowed. -
2017-08-31 at 12:21 PM UTCWhaaatcha been doing on your computer that would instigate remote view?

There's enough Linux rootkit/trojan alternatives.

It's not about being "seen as unsolicited", it's that consumer routers typically do not port forward at all by default. -
2017-09-01 at 11:43 AM UTCI put team viewer on both machines.
looks pretty good I'll know next week when I install it how it performs over long distance. -
2017-09-03 at 5:56 AM UTCNot sure if this is a shitty/incorrect answer, but couldn't the OP just use SSH?
-
2017-09-03 at 7:59 AM UTCReasonable idea but SSH invokes port binding/forwarding issues, as well as the fact that you'd have to be working over a terminal. Feasible in linux box administration but trying to do techsupport for mom from a command line when all you've got is "the internet is slow" is ass.
X over ssh does exist but requires, well, X so in the case of a windows box it's out of the question. -

should be able to do it with xming, but it's really more trouble than I figure the OP is willing to deal with when rdp is available out of the box -
