Whats the best way to get remote access to another pc.
I just bought my mom a new pc and would like to be able to fix shit remotely when she fucks it up.
She lives in Hampshire and I live in Massachusetts so it sucks trying to fix shit over the phone,70 year old women should not be on the internet but she loves facebook.
I have her new pc and would like to be able to get it all set up before I drive 3 hours to her house and only have dsl to use.

Put Sub7 on her machine. You can then access everything on her machine on port 27374, including live desktop, registry access, local program execution, pipe return, and hundreds of other access features.

Teamviewer has always been really slow for me. Are any of these other options faster or no?

SubSeven was initially designed to be a seamless interface between two or more computers. Even today, it kicks the ass of all the other imitators. It's invisible, so she'll never see it, no interaction necessary, and it's highly configurable.

Thanks -Spec I'll look into it.
If I was dealing with a person that has some tech experience it would one thing but when I have to explain what a right click on mouse is it gets real hard.
The first computer I gave her had windows xp on it she had a hard time with the shutdown menu so she just pulled the plug to shut it off.

on a windows computer, just goto system settings and turn on remote access. unblock (and ideally forward it to another port) 3389 on the router.

on your computer, you can use mstsc /v:<mother's ip address> to connect to her computer. if you forwarded to another port, enter a space after the IP address and then the port number, ie

    mstsc /v:123.123.123.123 3388

for what, a trojan/rootkit? I dunno, some used to set up a Web server control panel so you could run commands from your browser but I haven't looked into it in years

Keep in mind that even if you get someone to run a trojan, you have to contend with NAT on their modem/router too
