    I'm more worried about their stealth-blacklisting of 'controversial' videos - if enough people flag a video as 'controversial' it can no longer be found in searches or embedded externally

    Mhmm, can't find the article but Youtube apparently uses the viewers of a video to track down other "problematic" content.
    
    If a video has been deemed "not friendly for advertisement" or however it's called it will leave some sort of cookie with the viewer. If your video gets watched by more "cookie-carrying" viewers than not it will get blacklisted without your notice. It will stop being recommended and comments get deleted randomly.
    
    I have nothing to back that up but I haven't looked around. A lot of Youtubers are claiming stuff like that, though.
