I mean come on. Austin is where a huge percentage of the music scene from the 50s, 60s and 70s came out of.. from country to rock. next to Memphis it's where strung out musicians on things way more worst than pot have made a name for themselves.
Me Personally.. I think Pot is overhyped and should be strictly limited to distribution by dispenceries. they are clearly going to oversaturate the market. will cost more to sell it off than what it takes in.
Now if the USA had a central region for farmers to bring their weed into, controlled the market (like wheat) and made much of it into food base products to sell overseas (which means the US will have to try and get other nations to legalize it) then lots of marijuana could bring in lots of tax money for the system.

Yes it is overhyped and yeah it is still considered to be "problematic" here in austin. It's crazy because I don't smoke nearly as much as I used to, mabye like once ever 2 months or so. But everyone and there grandma smokes, I was busted for weed when i was 15 and had to go to an alternative school for 2 weeks and all the black kids called me a honky faggot and my dad would wake me up by throwing a glass of water in my face while i was dead asleep and start spouting off stereotypical pot lingo from the 70's to make fun of me.
It was terrible, now fastward to last year, my mom is now asking me if I can buy and then sell her some weed, and I basically told to the bent.
But I'm digressing, at least austin tried to put up a good fight against the federal Crouton ban.
It's fucked up here because I go to central market and buy poppy seeds to make tea and they would be all concerened at check out like "wha are deez for?" as if I owe them an explanation. I straight up told them one time I'm using it to make a tea to get high because I have back pain.
I went in one day to get some and some bitch walked up on me and I spilled an entire jar of poppy seeds everywhere, and she was like "where did you find those..." and I was like "on the shelf....." and she was like "oh well we keep them behind the counter now" and I was like well why weren't they behind the counter and why?
and she said "because people abuse them"
yet they sell tons of liquor, american spirit cigs, and fattening foods for all those fat foody booties, yet I'm getting scrutinized over poppy seeds...
RIP crazy mike, poppy seed tea was his end unfortunately.
